Bunged-up nose? Just take these acne pills

A drug used to treat acne and prostate disease may help sufferers of nasal polyps.

This is one of several new non-invasive treatments for the condition, which affects an estimated 1 million Britons.

Nasal polyps are clear, benign, grape-like bags of tissue that grow on the lining of the nasal cavity or the sinuses, and often occur on the both sides of the nose.

The exact cause is not known, although it's thought inflammation - triggered by viral or bacterial infections, or allergies - leads to a build up of water in the cells.

Over time, as gravity pulls on these waterlogged tissues, they can develop into polyps.

Symptoms include blocked or runny nose, difficulty breathing through the nose, facial pain and headache.

NFL fans (defined as those adults who are very, somewhat, or a little bit interested in the NFL) also do not skimp on household technology, according to Scarborough Sports Marketing. They are more likely than the average U.S. adult to have all types of hi-tech items in their household, from DVRs and MP3 players to HDTV.

Women learn techniques for stress relief at library lunch

Stress, Newman said, can leave immune systems weak and lead to everything from psoriasis, eczema and acne to cardiovascular issues, gastrointestinal disorders and loss of sleep or depression. While most of the women didn’t say stress led to the more serious illnesses, a few agreed loss of sleep is a definite side effect of their worries.Grace Aguilar, who said she often attends the brown bag lunches, said she wouldn’t describe herself as a stressed out person. But, she said, when she goes to bed each night her mind starts racing, and it usually takes her another hour to actually fall asleep.Newman recommended a breathing technique to alleviate stress and encourage sleep. A person is to breathe in slowly through the nose. Then, as they breathe out, they’re to consciously relax one body part each time starting with the head and working down to the toes. This method, she said laughing, is also helpful for dealing with obstinate teenagers.Another technique known as the quick-charge, Newman said, is a good "secret weapon." It involves intentionally trying to stay in the present, not worrying about past instances or future worries.
